So you’re going to be trapped on an airplane for 6+ hours. What should you wear?
What to wear on a long-haul flight.
Obviously you want to comfortable more than anything else. You may still want to remain stylish.
1. Maxi Dress.
Ladies, what’s more comfortable than a maxi dress? Not much. It’s like the sweatpants of dress up clothes. Long, loose and flowing. Who wants to be restricted or in something tight while trapped in a tight space? Not me.
Plus you’ll be able to wear this once you arrive as well. Maxi dresses make you look dressed up.
Also, who will ever know if you go commando?
2. Leggings (or sweatpants).
Sometimes airplanes are going to feel like the frozen Arctic. Always bring a pair of leggings (or sweatpants if you have to room under the maxi for them). Stay warm if it’s freezing ass cold at 35,000 ft. Plus they’re a good thing to have with you to mix and match for later outfits on the trip.
3. Cardigan, zip up hoodie…. something with sleeves.
Continuing on with the Arctic and freezing ass cold. Bring some kind of sleeved top to wear over your maxi to stay warm. Whether it be a cardigan, zipper hoodie, light jacket… Something comfortable. Key here is layer to stay warm if need be.
And let’s face it, it’ll come in handy if you’re visiting somewhere cool. Or to prevent hypothermia if you’re going somewhere tropical and end up going into a building that’s blasting the A/C.
4. Shoes that are easy to slip on and off.
If you’re traveling though airports in the US you may have to take off your shoes while going through security. And if you’re like me you’ll probably want to kick them off when you’re seated on the plane.
I usually tend to stay away from heels or anything too clonky since I most likely won’t be wearing them once I arrive.
Sorry man-people’s, maybe one day I’ll do a what to wear for you too

I must admit to wearing my big, clunky hiking boots when I fly… admittedly probably the worst shoe to wear, but also the worst to pack because they’re big and clunky. I take them off during the flight though, and thick hiking socks are great for keeping your feet warm, and for walking around the plane in!
Yeah wearing the hiking boots is a much better than wasting the space packing them for sure!
Nice blog ? I consider myself a seasons flyer now after many long hauls travels and lots of work travel. Slip on and off shoes for the airport security agree are a must! and to change into big fluffy comfy socks on the flight! I generally wear something with leggings, so I curl up in comfort. Jeans are a no no! And if your headed someon hot and sunny from somewhere cold, pack some shades and flip flops to start of the right way as soon as you land!
Yeah jeans are a no no, one of my friend has a horror story about jeans… She swelled really bad from flying and she had to cut them off! And definitely need to have the warm weather stuff in the carry on so you’re ready on the ground and aren’t wearing your parka off the plane!
